Back Pain SucksFor the past 6 months or so I’ve been dealing with back pain, well about a week before we had to move Mark suddenly began having back pain from outta nowhere. So we went and took him to the E.R. because we needed him to be ok for work and stuff I personally am biding my time until medical insurance kicks in. Well the Doctor figured out immediately that it was his sciatic nerve causing his pain, they gave him some med’s and told him to follow the discharge instructions and the pain would be gone within about a week. Well as I read over the discharge paperwork I noticed that all the symptoms listed for this were the same one’s I’ve been suffering with. So I’m thinking that this is what’s wrong with me. However we are so far in the hole with medical bills already, and since I’m not working or anything, I’m just holding off until February when the insurance kicks in. But I tell you what it just really sucks dealing with this pain day in and day out. It’s not only physically exhausting but emotionally and mentally draining as well. I move around feeling like a little old lady, because half the time I can’t stand for more than a few minutes at a time. Taking a shower requires a stool for me to sit on and I also keep a stool that I drag around the house with me for my daily chore’s like laundry, or cooking or whatever I may happen to be doing. Going to the store is almost always a chore as I need to constantly rest on a cart, and you might as well forget doing stuff like going to the mall because I just can’t handle the walking. I just hope February get’s here fast because I really don’t know how much more I can take of this.
Settling InWell we finnally got moved, and boy what a week it’s been, I felt like it was non-stop for like 5 days straight. After all is said done though it seems this move was a good Idea. We went from an apartment that was about 530 sq. feet to one that’s 845 sq. feet that’s quite a nice improvement. It’s a 2 bedroom 2 bath and I’m also loving the fact that I now have a dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer and a dryer. The Apartment also has a woodburning fireplace, as well as built in microwave. It’s a really nice place, now all I need is more furniture to fill it up…lol. Kenzie start’s school on Monday and he’s looking forward to it. That’s the only downfall I felt to this move was having to switch him schools again so soon however there wasn’t much we could do about it. Our old landlord really did a number on us wanting us to move right before the holidays so he could renovate the apartment, and though we tried we just couldn’t find a place in the same school district. But now we have a 12 month lease so I don’t think we’ll be moving again anytime soon.
Happy Thanksgiving! As it may be a while before I can post again I just wanted to tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving and I hope yours is a good one. My family and I however will be spending the holidays packing so that we can move next weekend. We’ll more than likely be celebrating thanksgiving after the move instead of on the day. So cheers to everyone and I hope your holidays are well!!!!
BudgetingWell for the first time in my life I decided to take control of working our budget here at home instead of letting Mark do it all I approached it somewhat vigorously, because I knew by doing this I would help get alot of the stress of his shoulders, and to that extent it has worked out. So Here’s what I did. First I created a google calendar and decided to plan out how much we needed to take out of each check every week to put towards bills. I planned it all out pretty well actually and looking over the finished product I was quite proud of myself. Secondly I went and bought a binder and some folders. A Folder for each bill the bills being Rent, Cable (which actually is three bills rolled into one ie.. cable, phone, and internet) a folder for gas and electric, and another for our credit card bill. Inside each one I put post-it notes on how much was needed for what dates. Needless to say this actually worked out quite well as it only took as a month to get financially back on track. So from now On I think I’ll be using this tatic with the bills I recommend it to anyone who feels like they are always living from paycheck to paycheck as now we actully have a few extra dollars come pay day it’s quite a nice change…
