Migrants flee atrocities; biting poverty; places with no access to even basic services, and where the rule of law is broken. This does not make them criminals. Who wouldn’t do the same? It’s not “us versus them”. We together must defend the #humanrights of migrants. We together must counter the dangerous trend of bigotry against migrants, which is often suffused with racism and religious hatred and stirred up for political gain. Today is Intl #MigrantsDay
This was something they never taught us in school. American Had it’s own internment camps and it was a horrible thing we did. Thousands of Americans were removed from their homes and had everything taken away from them simply because of fear. So it’s really very sad to see Americans today rally behind these kinds of ideas again. We should not be acting out of Fear it leads to horrible consequences.
