I wish there was more focus on getting android on laptops I could totally get into having it on my laptop. I have tried Androidx86 but it’s buggy and I can’t use the google+ or youtube apps on it. Maybe in the future we will see AndroidOS optimized for laptops/netbooks.

If you want to use the new google hangouts as an SMS replacement on your Android but miss pop up notifications, try this app 🙂 I’ve been using it for a few days now and it works great.
