Dinner is long done, the leftovers put away, the pie has been served. The house is quiet because everyone else is asleep. So Here I am watching Frosty The Snowman reminiscing about holidays gone by. I really miss the family Christmas gatherings we had when I was kid. Getting together with everyone at Grandma and Grandpa’s house, Grandpa dressing up as Santa clause, everyone being in a good mood and just enjoying being together. The late drive home in the cold weather (and sometimes snow) and the Christmas lights everywhere on the drive home. I’m so thankful to have those memories and just know I love you all dear family both far and near.
Thanksgiving Dinner. My first attempt at making everything from scratch. Sweet Potato casserole, Green Bean Casserole, Twice Baked cauliflower, stuffing (Made with home made bread), Cranberry Sauce (not pictured), and Rosemary onion rolls. For dessert Two homemade pumpkin pies, with homemade whip cream.
As human beings we each have a responsibility to care for humanity. Expressing concern for others brings inner strength and deep satisfaction. As social animals, human beings need friendship, but friendship doesn’t come from wealth and power, but from showing compassion and concern for others.
